Day after day, week after week, in a hurry, what are you pursuing?
If your eyes are not enough to see and your ears are not enough to hear, do you have peace in your heart?
You need to rest and know that I am God and I am your rest.
All the best blessings come from me. Why don’t you look for me?
My people will dwell in a peaceful resting place
Psalm 46:10 Rest, and know that I am God! I will be exalted among the Gentiles, and will be exalted in all the earth.
Isaiah 32:18 My people will live in a peaceful dwelling, a safe dwelling place, and a calm resting place.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid. Tao Shu God is so great and wonderful and so utterly lovely that He needs nothing more than Himself to meet our deepest needs.
【Life within the Curtain】Pastor Zhou Jinhai’s “Quietly Waiting for God” Chapter 1
The Importance of Quietly Waiting on God (3) Waiting quietly on God shows that we need God. Waiting quietly on God shows that we need Him, because God is the source of living water and the source of everything.
We need to come to God often, because without Him, we have no power, no peace, and no rest in peace. Who doesn’t need rest? Who doesn’t need peace? Where can we find true peace but in the presence of the God of peace? In a modern society where science and technology and medicine are so advanced and the economy is so prosperous, there is a strange phenomenon: people are panicked and have no sense of security, and there are still many people who are sick.
We have to ask: What is the reason? I think the root cause lies in people's lack of faith, lack of spiritual life, and neglect of spiritual life. The so-called spiritual life is what we call the inner life, the spiritual life of communion with God. This is the meaning and importance of waiting quietly for God. Therefore, we need to come before God, learn to wait quietly for Him, look to Him, gain strength from Him, and find rest.
God said, "My people have done two evil things: (1) They have turned aside from me, the fountain of living water, and (2) they have hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that cannot hold water." (Jeremiah 2:13) This The Word tells us that God is the source of life or water. He is the source that supplies all our needs. All our good things are not outside of Him.
There is one problem that people can never solve, and that is the emptiness of the soul. The human heart seems to never be satisfied. What is the reason? What is the meaning of life? People often ask: Why do I live? Even though we have material enjoyment on the outside, why are people still not satisfied in their hearts? This is because we still have spiritual needs, and the emptiness and needs of our hearts can only be satisfied by God.
Although the world is big, it cannot satisfy this little heart. Only God can satisfy this little heart!
